We have a can do spirit!
Shy Acre is a multi use demonstration farm in Port Townsend, Washington. We come from an agricultural family and have always had our hands in the dirt!
The land that we tend is a statement of simplicity and resourcefulness. Shy Acre is small yet impactful. The size is intentional to demonstrate the scale of abundant productivity within a limited space.
The staff at Shy Acre Farm have years of combined experience with permaculture, commercial farming and community outreach. Building on this expansive knowledge, the founders of Shy Acre Farm have set out to “Create a vibrant community that is healthy, active, and engaged through farming.” We plan to implement sustainable systems with long term payback. Edible plants, including fruit and nut trees will support the community with food.
Shy Acre supports educational programs in a beautiful setting. We encourage place based social change to enhance community resilience.
